What is CBG?
Cannabis Sativa contains over 120 different cannabinoids, one of which is CBG, Cannabigerol.
Cannabigerol is considered “The mother to all cannabinoids” and is just like CBD not psychoactive.
CBG is the precursor to all other cannabinoids and occurs when CBGA (cannabigerolic acid) is heated. Other cannabinoids, including THC, CBD and CBC, are produced thanks to CBG.
Normally, Cannabis contains very low levels of CBG, but there are hemp varieties, such as Santhica, which contain high levels of the cannabinoid.
What is CBG isolate?
As you may guess, CBG isolates are created by isolating cannabigerol from all other compounds in the plant. For example, you will not find the following in an isolate:
- Terpenes
- Flavonoids
- Wax
- Other cannabinoids
The CBG isolate is a fine white powder that does not taste or smell anything, but contains a high concentration of CBG.
