What Is CBG?
CBG stands for Cannabigerol and is one of over 120 different cannabinoids found in Cannabis Sativa. It is often referred to as the “mother of all cannabinoids.” In the early stages of the hemp plant’s growth, it primarily contains CBGa (cannabigerolic acid). Over time, this acid converts into other cannabinoids, including CBD, CBN, and THC, leaving only a small amount of CBG in the mature plant.
Today, certain hemp strains, such as Matterhorn and Santhica, have been cultivated to contain higher levels of CBG. In these CBG-dominant varieties, the presence of other cannabinoids is minimal.
