How an activated carbon filter works
Same place as a regular filter tip – but with carbon in the middle.
Activated carbon
The carbon is made from coconut shells and has a porous surface that captures some of the particles as the smoke passes through.
Ceramic caps
Both ends have a ceramic cap that keeps the carbon in place. The filter has no front or back.
Cooler and smoother
The smoke has time to cool on its way through the filter, giving a softer draw than a regular cardboard tip.
Made in Germany
Purize makes its filters in Germany. They are ready to use – nothing to fold or shape.

How to use a carbon filter
Takes no longer than a regular tip

Choose a size
Both fit our rolling papers: Xtra Slim is the slimmer filter, Regular the thicker one. Not sure? Start with Xtra Slim.

Place the filter at the end
Put the filter where the tip usually goes. It does not need folding and works either way round.

Roll around the filter
Roll a little tighter than usual around the filter so the paper closes snugly. Then finish rolling as normal.

What is an activated carbon filter?
A filter that replaces the regular filter tip. In the middle is activated carbon that captures some of the particles in the smoke, making it cooler and smoother.
Which size should I choose?
Both Xtra Slim (ø 6 mm) and Regular (ø 8.3 mm) fit all our rolling papers. Xtra Slim is the slimmer filter, Regular the thicker one. BIG Size (ø 14 mm) requires King Size Wide papers, which we do not stock at the moment. See the size guide.
Will Purize fit my rolling papers?
Yes. Both Xtra Slim and Regular work with all our rolling papers, such as RAW, OCB and Fjaell. See all rolling papers.
How is it different from a regular filter tip?
A regular tip is a roll of card that gives structure and something to hold. An activated carbon filter does the same, but the smoke also passes through carbon, giving a cooler, smoother draw.
Can I use BIG Size with regular papers?
No. BIG Size has a diameter of 14 mm and needs King Size Wide papers. Regular papers are too narrow, and we do not stock Wide papers at the moment.
Are there cones with a carbon filter?
Yes. Purize PreRolled Cones have a carbon filter already fitted, so you only need to fill and twist.
