What is CBG?
Cannabis Sativa contains over 120 different cannabinoids, and one of them is CBG, Cannabigerol. Cannabigerol is considered the “Mother of all cannabinoids” and, like CBD, is non-psychoactive. CBG is the precursor to all other cannabinoids and is formed when CBGA (cannabigerolic acid) is heated. Other cannabinoids, including THC, CBD, and CBC, are produced thanks to CBG.
Typically, Cannabis contains very low levels of CBG, but there are hemp strains, such as Santhica, that have high amounts of this cannabinoid.
What is CBG Isolate?
As you might guess, CBG isolate is produced by isolating cannabigerol from all other compounds in the plant. In an isolate, you will not find:
- Terpenes
- Flavonoids
- Waxes
- Other cannabinoids
CBG isolate is a fine white powder that has no taste or smell but contains a high concentration of CBG.
Frequently asked questions
What is CBG?
Cannabigerol (CBG) is often called the “mother of all cannabinoids”, as other cannabinoids such as CBD develop from it. CBG occurs only in small amounts in industrial hemp. This isolate contains 99% pure CBG in powder form and is THC-free.
What is the difference between CBG crystals and CBG isolate?
They are the same product. Isolate refers to the degree of purity (here 99% cannabigerol), while crystals describe the powdered form it is delivered in.
How pure is the CBG isolate?
