CBD oil prices can be hard to compare. A bottle that costs €50 can actually be more expensive than one that costs €80, because the amount of CBD varies so much from product to product. The trick is to stop looking at the price tag and work out the price per milligram (mg) of CBD instead.
In this guide we show you how to do the maths, which criteria we use to keep the comparison fair and what broad-spectrum oils from a few well-known brands actually cost per mg. Prices were last checked on 30 September 2026.

- Price per mg = bottle price divided by the amount of CBD in mg.
- A 10 ml bottle with 10% CBD contains 1,000 mg, with 40% it contains 4,000 mg.
- Higher strength and bigger bottles almost always mean a lower price per mg.
- In our comparison the price ranges from about €0.008 to €0.050 per mg.
- Independent lab reports matter. In a 2024 study, 74% of the products tested were at least 10% off the amount of CBD stated on the label.
How to calculate the price per mg of CBD
The formula is simple: price per mg = bottle price / total amount of CBD in mg.
You get the amount of CBD from the percentage and the bottle size. One percent equals 10 mg per ml. A 10 ml bottle with 10% CBD therefore contains 1,000 mg, and a 30 ml bottle of the same strength contains 3,000 mg.
Example: A 10 ml bottle with 10% CBD costs €50. 50 / 1,000 = €0.05 per mg. A 10 ml bottle with 40% CBD that costs €120 works out at 120 / 4,000 = €0.03 per mg. The more expensive bottle is cheaper per mg.
Also check that the figure on the label refers to CBD and not to the whole hemp extract or the total amount of cannabinoids. You will find this in the product’s lab report.
Why we only compare broad-spectrum, CO₂-extracted oils
To make the comparison fair, we need to compare like with like. Putting a cheap oil made from isolate next to a broad-spectrum oil does not give a fair picture. That is why we only included oils that meet two criteria.
- Broad spectrum and THC-free: Broad-spectrum oils contain several of hemp’s natural cannabinoids and terpenes, but the THC has been removed. This takes an extra purification step compared with an oil made from pure CBD isolate, and that affects the price. Full-spectrum oils that contain THC are not included.
- CO₂ extraction: Carbon dioxide under high pressure is used as a solvent to draw cannabinoids and terpenes out of the hemp. When the pressure is released, the carbon dioxide turns back into gas, so no solvent residue is left behind. The method needs expensive equipment but is easy to control. Sticking to these criteria keeps us from mixing up products with very different production costs.
Price comparison: broad-spectrum CBD oil in September 2026
The prices below were taken from each brand’s Swedish web shop on 30 September 2026 and refer to a single bottle without volume discounts or subscriptions. They have been converted to euros at the rate our own shop uses (1 SEK ≈ €0.091), so prices in your country may differ. We mainly compare 10 ml bottles, since that is the size every brand sells. We sell CBD oil ourselves, so Raw Hemp’s own oils are included in the tables. Feel free to check the figures with the formula above.

Nordic Oil’s strongest broad-spectrum oil contains 20% CBD, so it is not included in the high-strength table.
Buying a bigger bottle lowers the price even further. Raw Hemp’s 30 ml bottles cost €44.49 for 10% (3,000 mg, €0.015 per mg) and €95.44 for 40% (12,000 mg, €0.008 per mg). Several brands also offer volume discounts or subscriptions, so it is worth doing the maths on exactly what you plan to buy.
September 2026 update: what has changed
The first version of this comparison was published in March 2026. For this update we checked every price again.
- Naturecan and Nordic Oil were running campaigns when we checked, so we list both the campaign price and the regular price.
- Endoca is no longer included. Their oils are full spectrum and contain THC, which does not meet the criteria for the comparison.
- Nordic Oil’s 10% oil is sold as full spectrum. We therefore compare their 15% broad-spectrum oil instead.
- Raw Hemp’s prices have not changed since March.
What are you actually paying for?
If you find an oil that is extremely cheap per mg, it pays to be careful. This is what drives the price.
- Independent lab testing: Serious manufacturers have an independent laboratory check the levels of CBD and THC and look for contaminants. It is needed. In a US study from 2017, only about 31% of 84 products sold online had a CBD content that matched the label. A European study from 2018 found that 9 out of 14 CBD oils differed clearly from the stated content, and in a larger US study from 2024, 74% of 202 products were at least 10% off.
- Origin of the hemp: Hemp grown in the EU under strict rules often costs more than mass-produced hemp from regions with weaker oversight.
- The carrier oil: The CBD extract is mixed with a carrier oil, usually MCT oil, hemp seed oil or olive oil. The choice affects both price and shelf life, and we compare them in our guide to the best carrier oil for CBD.
- Customer service and peace of mind: A shop in your own region often offers faster delivery and customer service under local consumer law, which can be worth a little extra per mg.
Buying locally or from another EU country?
It can be tempting to order from large foreign shops with bigger volumes. Sometimes that means a lower price per mg, but there are things to keep in mind.
- Cross-border shops: Sometimes a lower price per mg on large orders, but longer delivery times and harder returns.
- Local shops: Faster delivery and products adapted to local rules on THC content, which vary from country to country.

Checklist for the price-conscious buyer
Before you click buy, run through this list.
- Check the extraction method. Is the oil CO₂-extracted?
- Check the spectrum. Is it broad spectrum and THC-free?
- Do the maths. Divide the price by the total amount of CBD in mg.
- Find the lab report. Do not pay for a product that cannot show what it contains.

How do I know how many mg of CBD a bottle contains?
Look at the percentage and the bottle size. One percent equals 10 mg per ml. A 10 ml bottle with 5% contains 500 mg of CBD, with 10% it contains 1,000 mg and with 20% it contains 2,000 mg.
Is a more expensive CBD oil always better?
Not necessarily, but an extremely low price can be a warning sign. CO₂ extraction, organic cultivation and independent lab testing all cost money. Work out the price per mg and check the lab report to see whether you are paying for quality or for a brand.
Why is a stronger oil often cheaper per mg?
The cost of the bottle, label, shipping and handling is roughly the same whatever the strength. That is why manufacturers can often offer a lower price per mg on a more concentrated product.
Does the best-before date affect the price?
Yes, oils with a short date are sometimes sold at a big discount. CBD oil usually keeps for 12–24 months if stored somewhere cool and dark, so this can be a way to lower the price per mg.
Can I trust price comparisons from outside Europe?
Be careful. Prices from the US or the UK rarely include customs duties, local VAT or the THC rules that apply in many European countries.
