In March 2024 we lowered the price of our entire range of Premium CBD oils. The oils are the same as before, with the same strengths and the same production, but they cost less. Here we go through which oils are included, how they are made and how to compare the price of different CBD oils fairly.

Key facts

  • The price reduction in March 2024 applied to all our Premium CBD oils.
  • The oils are made in Sweden under GMP, good manufacturing practice.
  • The extract is made by CO2 extraction, without solvents such as ethanol or butane.
  • All the oils are broad spectrum and contain several cannabinoids and terpenes in addition to CBD.
  • Every batch is analysed by the independent laboratory Pharma Labs.
  • The fairest way to compare CBD oils is the price per milligram of CBD.

Which oils are included?

The reduction applied to the whole range, from the mild 10 percent oil to the strongest 40 percent oils. The range currently consists of:

Most are available in both 10 and 30 ml. You will find the full range in the category

The same quality at a lower price

A lower price does not mean we have changed anything in the oils. They are still made in Sweden under GMP, which stands for good manufacturing practice. GMP comes from the pharmaceutical industry and sets requirements for how production is documented, checked and traced, from raw material to finished bottle.

The extract in the oils is made by CO2 extraction. Carbon dioxide under high pressure acts as the solvent and draws the cannabinoids and terpenes out of the hemp. When the pressure is released, the carbon dioxide turns back into gas and disappears, so no solvent residue is left in the extract. The method also makes it possible to control temperature and pressure to preserve the plant’s own compounds.

The oils are broad spectrum. This means that in addition to CBD they contain other cannabinoids such as CBG and CBC as well as the plant’s own terpenes. According to the theory of the entourage effect, these compounds work together and enhance each other, so that the whole does more than a single isolated compound. That is why we chose broad spectrum rather than pure CBD isolate.

Every batch of our oils is analysed by an independent laboratory.

Every batch is analysed by the independent laboratory Pharma Labs, and the analysis is published on the product page. There you can see exactly how much CBD and other cannabinoids the oil contains. Here is how to read such a report:

How to compare the price of CBD oil

The price of the bottle on its own says little, because oils differ in both size and strength. The fairest measure is the price per milligram of CBD. You work it out by dividing the price by the total amount of CBD in the bottle. A 10 ml bottle with 10 percent CBD contains 1,000 mg of CBD, while a 30 ml bottle with 20 percent contains 6,000 mg.

The larger the bottle and the higher the strength, the lower the price per milligram. In our range, the 40 percent oil in a 30 ml bottle costs roughly a third as much per milligram as the 10 percent oil in a 10 ml bottle. We have made a larger price-per-mg comparison across the market in the article

Best value CBD oil: price per mg compared.

When cheap CBD oil is not cheap

A low price is only worth something if the contents are right. When researchers in the US analysed 84 CBD products sold online in 2017, the CBD content matched the label in only 31 percent of cases. 43 percent contained more CBD than stated and 26 percent less, and THC was found in 21 percent of the products.

A low price per milligram is therefore meaningless if the milligrams are not in the bottle. Always check that there is a current lab report from an independent laboratory and that its figures match the label.

Did Raw Hemp lower the price of all its CBD oils?

Yes. In March 2024 we lowered the price of the entire Premium CBD oil range, both the pure CBD oils and the variants with CBG and CBN.

Where are Raw Hemp’s CBD oils made?

The oils are made in Sweden under GMP, good manufacturing practice, with CO2-extracted hemp extract, and every batch is analysed by the independent laboratory Pharma Labs.

What is GMP?

GMP stands for good manufacturing practice. It is a set of requirements from the pharmaceutical industry for how production must be documented, checked and traced.

Which CBD oil is the best value?

Measured in price per milligram of CBD, large bottles with a high strength are the best value. Our 40 percent oil in 30 ml costs roughly a third as much per milligram as the 10 percent oil in 10 ml.

How do you compare the price of CBD oil?

Divide the price by the total amount of CBD in the bottle to get the price per milligram, and check that an independent lab report confirms the strength.
