Next week we travel to Prague. From 6 to 8 November, Cannafest 2026 takes place at PVA Expo Praha in Letňany, and we at Raw Hemp will be there for the second year in a row. The fair is being held for the sixteenth time and is today one of the most important meeting places in Europe for the hemp and cannabis industry. This year it is extra interesting, as it is the first Cannafest since the Czech Republic’s new cannabis law came into force.

The sixteenth edition of Cannafest
Cannafest is an international trade fair for hemp, cannabis and medicinal herbs. It started on a small scale in the early 2010s and was held for many years at Výstaviště in central Prague. Today it has moved to the larger exhibition grounds of PVA Expo Praha in Letňany. Tens of thousands of visitors come every year, and this year the organisers expect around 250 exhibitors.
We were there last year and came home with new contacts and a picture of a country changing fast. You can read about it in our article on Cannafest 2025.

The conference: medical cannabis in focus
This year the lectures have moved to larger conference halls on the exhibition grounds, with a separate entrance from the fair. The focus is on medical cannabis, and the conference is held under the patronage of the Czech First Lady Eva Pavlová.
Among the speakers are the Czech chemist Lumír Hanuš, who was part of the research team that discovered anandamide in 1992, Nirit Bernstein, who researches the cultivation of medical cannabis in Israel, and Guillermo Velasco, who researches cannabinoids at the Complutense University of Madrid. The programme also covers law, business and activism. The lectures are recorded and published on Cannafest’s YouTube channel afterwards.
More than a trade fair
Cannafest is as much about culture as business. This year there is a new outdoor area, the Smoking & Chillout Zone, with DJs from Slow Down Radio, and there is live music every day. There is also a zone for vaporizers and dabbing, workshops, glassblowing, art exhibitions and competitions.
Beer has its own place too. The brewery Plzeňský Prazdroj, which makes Pilsner Urquell, is the official brewery of the fair, and at CannaBeerFest Czech breweries show off beer brewed with hemp.

The first Cannafest under the new Czech law
Since 1 January 2026, adults over 21 in the Czech Republic may grow up to three cannabis plants at home. They may keep up to 100 grams of dried cannabis at home and up to 25 grams outside the home. Possession of more than 200 grams is still a serious crime, and selling is not allowed. There are no social clubs yet either.
The Czech Republic thereby follows countries such as Malta, Luxembourg and Germany, where adults are already allowed to grow at home. We wrote about how things have gone in Germany in Germany’s cannabis law two years on. At Cannafest it will be interesting to hear how the Czech industry views the first year under the new law.
Why we are going to Prague
For us, a trip like this is about more than looking at new products. The European hemp market is changing fast, with new rules, new customer habits and new players. Being there in person gives a sense of where things are heading that no report can.
We look at product news, follow up on the partnerships we already have and see if there are new ones. And of course we bring home as much inspiration as possible for our range.

Follow us from Prague
During the fair we will share photos and impressions from Prague on our social channels: what we find, what impresses us and what we think will show up in our range in the future.
Are you going to Cannafest too? Get in touch, we would be happy to meet there. You can find more fairs this year in our guide to cannabis trade shows in Europe 2026.
